Test Run

Hi there, I am a friend of Sara's, trying to help her out with her blog.  She has been unable to either access this or upload photos, which she is anxious to do because she has a lot of new work to share, so I'm testing this and going to try to post a photo she previous posted here.  So here goes:

That's My World - City Art part II

I am really happy to be back after such a long absence. Back on July 21 I did part I of the art around my hometown and today I am back with part II:)

This dolphin fountain is exactly the same as one in Santa Barbara, Ca. It is a "Sister City" thing! LOL! The fountain is located at one end of the boardwalk, across the street from the main square (Plaza).

I call this statue "The Pleading Angel" it is also on the boardwalk and it is newer than the dolphin fountain.

The Mexican Dancers are incredible! The detailing is amazing! They are performing a typical Mexican song called "Guadalajara" and they "dance" 24/7!

Think Monday - Think ATC

Since I am JUST getting back my inspiration I kept it very simple with a Mexican lottery card and - flag colors -metalic mesh as background. I am really sorry about the glare, I could not come up with a glareless photo :(

Mixed Media Monday - Meaningful Music

Today I am taking part - for the first time ever - in the fun mix media art challenge at http://mixedmediamonday.wordpress.com/ The idea is to chose a piece of music that is meaningful to you, and create a piece of art around it.

I chose some instrumental music - I find it easier to create listening to that type of music, and since I am big on recycling - my art journal is last year's agenda - I took out several scraps of paper and images and this is what I came up with... Not bad, I think - albeit minimalist - after being un-inspired for so long :)
